CURRICULUM FRAMEWORK - PREFACE
A Quality Wisconsin
Marketing Education Curriculum Framework
An adaptation of the National Marketing Education Standards
To provide Wisconsin Marketing Educators with a curriculum framework and resources to facilitate student learning and prepare students in the global economy
Goals of Marketing, Management & Entrepreneurship Education
Secondary marketing education in Wisconsin has two primary goals. One goal is to provide students the academic knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to pursue post secondary education in marketing. The other goal is to provide the necessary experiences and training for high school graduates to enter the world of work upon graduation in high skill, high wage, or high demand positions.
Overview of Framework
The purpose of this project was to create a useable, working document to serve as a guide about what should be covered in a marketing education program. This is not intended to be utilized as an end-all, be-all resource, nor is it intended to be taken literally. Teachers should take this resource as the ingredients from industry-based research that say, These are the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that students must have to pursue a career within the marketing cluster. This resource is intended to be used in the classroom because its sole focus is school-based. Work-based learning is an integral portion of what a marketing program consists of, however; it does not appear in this document.
